Quick post before #BaeTime w/ my Love. It’s important to find ways to unwind after a long day or a long week. There are a lot of people out here like myself, who places everyone else’s needs and wants before our own. But you cannot lose you in the process.
It took me a while to figure out how to relax. What helps me eliminate my stress as well as desensitize myself from work bullshit at home. But just pay attention to your activities and find what works best for you. Like for me daily – a nice hot shower, I usually bring my phone in the bathroom to connect to my speaker and cut the lights off and light a teacup candle. Depending on my mood would determine my play list but it’s usually always R&B or jazz and I just zone out for the time I am in the shower. It really helps to get me relaxed so that I can attempt to sleep some at night. I have stress induced insomnia, so it’s important to try and remove the daily stress toxins.
I took some time to read about substitutes for sage smudging to remove negative energy from my home and I read that incense are a good replacement. So now, I’ve added into my “De-stress Flow” I usually burn sage and lavender incense together (safe removes toxins, lavender calms and soothes while alleviating depression also plays a role in helping remove emotional imbalances due to negative energy blocking one of the 7 Chakras). My love and I agree since adding this – the energy in our home has been super positive, we’re in good spirits, so it’s working!
And lastly – to relax after the week, I usually take a nice hot BATH. With bubbles, candles, wine and music! I prefer to take my bath usually early Saturday morning ( like 4-5 am) because it rids me of the week and allows me to have a free spirit to enjoy my weekend.
These are what I use and it’s a fairly new routine for me but the moral to this is – just find what works. But don’t settle for being stressed and not looking for an out, nobody wins that way. Life is to short to JUST exist.
